Why visit festivals?
For many people, the summer festivals are the highlight to look forward to. You might think of Pinkpop or Lowlands, but there are many more you can go to! The advantage of summer is that you can go outside, enjoy the beautiful weather and then with great music, you'd want to know all about that too, wouldn't you? Maybe you received a Festival Gift Card and now it's time to spend it on a ticket for a festival you've always wanted to go to. Therefore, also read our tips for visiting a festival safely and responsibly in the summer!
Festival tips for the summer months
If you go to a festival in the summer, it's important that you pay good attention to a few points. First of all, that is also your sleep. You might not want to think about it, but if you're going to party hard, drink, enjoy music and dance, you also need to rest. If you're going to sleep on the festival grounds, think carefully about where you'll pitch your tent. Near the toilets is not a good option, because you probably won't sleep much due to the smell. Choose a quiet spot if possible, a good air mattress and a good pillow. Possibly a sleep mask and then you can recover wonderfully after a busy day/evening/night.
Saving money at a festival?
You don't want to think about financial matters when going to the festival, do you? Yet you must think about it because you can save a lot of money! You could bring something to eat yourself. On the grounds themselves you pay a lot, so it's good to think in advance about what you can bring, such as a can of frankfurters and some rolls perhaps?
Prevent ear damage!
You value your ears too, don't you? Therefore, make sure to protect your ears during the festival. You might think it's not necessary, but the music is very loud here. At first you don't notice it, but at night you'll notice your ears ringing and you might not hear well anymore. You must prevent this, so wear good earplugs so you don't suffer hearing damage from a festival visit.
Think about your clothing and sunscreen!
It can be quite hot in the summer on an open field, especially if there are few trees! So dress accordingly, make sure you don't wear clothes that are too warm, but also not too revealing. You must protect yourself from the sun and that works very well if you keep applying sunscreen and regularly go stand or sit in the shade to recover for a bit.
Above all, don't forget to enjoy your festival visits this summer!
